Obama No Friend to Blacks and Hispanics.

Leaders of a national Hispanic organization are criticizing President Barack Obama for skipping their annual conference for the third consecutive year after he promised as a candidate, in 2008 that he would return as president. The No-Show was did not set well with many Latino Leaders. It is almost as if Obama was saying “I need your support, but I am not willing to work for it.
At the Republican Leadership Council meeting in Louisiana, last week Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.) said on Friday that President Barack Obama “has failed” both these communities Pointing to double-digit unemployment rates among African Americans and Hispanics was able to back up her claim by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They said Bachmann’s statement on unemployment in the African American and Hispanic communities is accurate.
In the Hispanic community, the overall unemployment rate was 9.9 percent in January 2009, when President Obama was inaugurated. By May 2011, it had risen to 11.9 percent.
Among African Americans 16 to 19 years old, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 36.3 percent in January 2009 and had risen to 40.7 percent by May 2011. Among Hispanics 16 to 19 years old, the unemployment rate was 24.3 percent in January 2009 and had risen to 26.1 percent by May 2011.
This leads many to ask if he will be able to maintain these voters or will they just sit home and not vote or possible even support the Republican candidate?

Finally, Us Army Replaces Black Beret with Patrol Cap!!

The U.S. Army said Monday that it was abandoning the beret, after a failed 10-year experiment.  This is far overdo in my opinion.  I was in when they made this change and no-one liked it.
The black beret, which proved deeply unpopular with American soldiers, will be replaced by a patrol cap for everyday wear, U.S. Army spokesman Col. Tom Collins said.  The patrol cap is much more comfortable than the beret.
The move came after outgoing Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, asked the Army’s Sergeant Major “to go out and talk to soldiers across the force and see what was on their minds,” Collins said.  ”One of the things that soldiers consistently brought up was the desire to wear the patrol cap as part of their duty uniform,” he said.
The beret will still be part of the Army’s dress uniform, but will no longer be worn in the field as many soldiers complained that it was impractical.  I hated the beret.  It was uncomfortable in hot weather, had no visor to protect from the sun, and served no practical purpose.
Before 2001, the black beret was associated with the elite Rangers Special Operations forces. Many Rangers resented the idea that the hat they had earned the right to wear had been assigned to the entire force.  The change was instituted by, what I believe, was an uppity general with an inferiority complex.  He hated that the Rangers, Special Forces and Airborne units had the berets as their symbol of excellence.  He figured if everyone wore them, there would be no elitism.  It was a bad decision and weakened the force, in my opinion.
The decision does not affect units that have long worn berets as a mark of distinction, including the Rangers’ black beret, Army Special Forces’ green beret, and Airborne’s maroon version.
I only wish this had taken place when I was in.  I am certain that the changes will make many soldiers happy. The decision does not affect units that have long worn berets as a mark of distinction, including the Rangers’ black beret, Army Special Forces’ green beret, and Airborne’s maroon version.

The Democrats Want The Government To Shutdown

The Federal Budget for FY 2011 is due this Friday. Please Note: This is the budget that was supposed to have passed by Oct of 2010.  They could have passed it easily with both houses of Congress and the Presidency.  So why didn’t they?  Because, they wanted to avoid facing any tough questions/criticisms in the 2010 elections.  Because of this, we have now had several Continuing Resolutions (CR) to keep the government open.  Fortunately, the last two have reduced some spending by a miniscule amount.

In Historic fashion, President Obama and the Liberals in Congress want to shutdown the government so they can continue to spend YOUR money while blaming Republicans.  This game was played in 1992 and the American People fell for it.  Not This Time!! It’s long past time for Obama and the Democrats to stop playing political games and, instead, get busy working with Republicans to solve America’s economic problems. The Democrats, especially Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), have been stonewalling, delaying and condemning the Republican’s Budget, while offering NOTHING of their Own.  They think they can rerun the 1992 playbook again.  They are also out in force. as was predicted, calling the plan “Extreme” as Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) said was the committee’s plan.  They are trying to frame the cuts as hurting children, education, and seniors.  It is not going to work this time.  The American People are smarter than that.

For the Record, by the end of his first term, President Obama and the Democrats will have added more debt to the nation than ALL 43 Presidents before him combined.  Even what the Republicans have planned for FY 2011 is not enough.  To illustrate, President Obama has taken us from 1 to 3 in spending (just as a scale.)  The Republicans are only trying to bring it back to 2.75 at best.
Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wis) has put out a budget plan that, while not perfect, will at least address the serious issues we are facing.  It will also help preserve many of the social safety nets out there, and still get us back to a sustainable path.  You can watch his 3-min video HERE.

The point is, George Bush took us from $3 to $6 Trillion in debt in 8 years.  President Obama has taken us from $6 to $14+ Trillion in just over 2 years.  The projection is for that to double within 6 years if he is re-elected and nothing changes. We MUST stop the madness NOW.  Please contact your elected representatives and encourage them to stop spending money that they do not have.
